DYB Helping The Children In Need is a nonprofit organization with a mission to help as many minority and underserved children in the world as we possibly can. Preparedness can often set the tone for a child’s ability to learn and our goal is to be able to provide aid so they can be able to go to school and sit in the classroom ready to receive a good education.

The founder, Denise Butler, understands the perils of being a single parent. She raised a son on her own and took on the burdens of financial stress as a parent in getting a child mentally and physically prepared for a school year. As she dealt with the issues of day-to-day living, she realized how much she loved giving to and helping children. During the first year of D.Y.B. she had been using her own money to buy school supplies for the children in need. She began running out of money and to continue doing good for the children, she established the non-profit.

We rely on donations in the form of school uniforms, school supplies, computers, laptops, shoes, sneakers, gym uniforms, coats, hats, gloves, and book bags. Unlike most agencies that provide book bags and supplies to children once a year, we strive to serve as a year-round resource. At anytime during the school year, teachers and parents can send children they identify who may have specific need for supplies and resources and receive assistance. This helps teachers who are limited annually to how much they can spend on classroom supplies. We also accept funds that will be dedicated to paying for the supplies as well as tutoring.

With some assistance from you, we can all sleep more peacefully at night knowing that we can put a smile on a child’s face, while helping parents and children in need. Thank you to everyone that is willing and able to help the children that are in need.
